Defend My Mail!

I'm in your base. Stealin your mail. (OMG first pic of my zealot/ on Iron Rock)
It seems the recent change to capping a zone have changed. Now, instead of defending mailboxes you actually have to be in the RvR lake and actually do something. Isn't that awesome? Forcing everyone to do their part for some nice battles against the opposing side that's trying to stop your beloved flip. It's a brilliant idea. That is, if it actually worked like that.

Instead the mailbox defenders have given up their long careers of making sure their mail is secure for defending the guards. Not the battle objective guards but the warcamp guards. These crafty ex-mailbox defenders have moved their station from the mailbox to slightly outside the warcamp. Allowing them to be defended by the heroes of the warcamp that restlessly guard the outside from the opposing force.

Although Mythic sees that they actually defeated the Mailbox Defender Forces by moving them into the RvR lakes they failed to make it so they actually have to do something to earn the flip. Not only are they sometimes afking outside the warcamp not helping with the progress of the flip (sometimes ruining the flip altogether). They are also ruining the delicious Against All Odds buff that so many people love, sense the migrated mailbox defenders are technically in the RvR lake they count as your force.

So, if you see a person afking just outside the warcamp. Send them a mail telling them "Hey, what gives? My mail was stolen because you neglected your duties as a mailbox defender. I demand you pay me 10 gold in compensation for the losses. Good day."

Last Resort

He was staggered for a reason!
Stagger the lovable CC of many, including my zealot. Sure, stagger is used to tackle larger groups and even the odds by disabling a key member of a group or the whole group in itself. However, 9 seconds for the aoe stagger that Knights of the Blazing Stun and Chosens have are to long. The aoe stagger should last for around 4 -5 seconds would be fair. The zealot and runepriests single target stagger is ok at 9 seconds since it's our only real CC.

Staggering may be your only move able to let you survive. It's fun to watch a Witch Hunter about to kill you but then you stagger him, heal then mount up and run away. If you have time making a taunting gesture like /wave. So fun. Until a renown seeking whore comes up and sees a Witch Hunter just standing there, thinking "Oh AFK WH all mine HAHAHAHAHA. I like freenown" and attacks him. Setting the recently raging beast free to seek it's revenge on you for not dying beforehand. Since it was before you could mount up he usually takes his revenge on you and attacks the rank 32 and kills him. Making you mad at him for about a week.

Or, when you're in a sc and you try to stagger a key player i.e. a Warrior Priest or a Sorcerer or something along the lines. Then a pugger comes up and starts attacking it immediately not caring about the stagger notification above his head. Usually messing up your premades strategies.

So, if you see the stagger symbol above someones head don't attack them. Who knows you may just save someones life.

Bombtards.

Not fair, all this guy does is spam one button. OP
Bombtards: A group that uses a bright wizard or sorcerers to aoe and damage a large group of the opposing side.

The word bombtards comes from two individual words bomb and retards. Mixing them into a combination of one word that is easy and fun to say. However, the bombtards are not as stupid as one would like to believe. From my experience as healing for a bomb group once or twice it's a viable tactic. The reason people hate bomb groups isn't because they destroy there whole group in one second it's because there isn't much of a downfall to bombing. In other words its the perfect group.

Also, bombtards don't just spam one button. They spam 2-4 buttons, how else are they going to gain combustion/dark magic?

But, Verras is here to tell you how to defeat a bomb group. If you wish to attempt this it takes a large amount of CC and group coordination. Okay the first thing is you'll see a tank or 2 running at you with a bright wizard/sorcerer close by. Now you have two options, if you have a chosen/kotbs stun the oncoming group staggering the bright wizard/sorcerer and his two guards leaving the healers open for a swift attack. If you have enough dps take both of them out, if you don't have enough dps single stagger one and hit the first one and then focus the second one fast because the tanks are coming. The second decision you can make is split up to disorient the group and split them out once the tanks run in Root them and go for the unguarded healers or bright wizards/sorcerer.

Now, if things don't go the way it wanted it to go just instantly keep on the healers and every time they res their allies dps him down.

Also, if they have an engineer/magus rifting/pulling you into the group don't try to run punt the bright wizard or the whole group out of there then stagger the rest then retreat out of there safely.

Or the obvious choice of running away. :D

How To: Punt

They're gonna find who punted that archmage!
Punt - The art of knocking back. Sure, you get an ability to knock people back. It seems fun at first, especially in the scenario, Tor Anroc. Knocking people back and watching them inevitably die in the lava as they try to jump out is so satisfying. But, admit it you rage when someone does it to you, even might call it cheap.

Enjoy your punts while they laugh because in Tier 4 you might as well take it right off your hotbar. If you use a punt in Tier 4 you're public enemy #1 because as soon as you use it, you're chat will be flooded with "OMG nub used KB I could of killed him", "WOOOOWWW The noob knocked him back when I was about to kill him", "Aren't you on our side? Why are you saving the order?", and so on.

Sure the enemy might be at full health, or you were getting 9 guys off of the healer, it doesn't matter. You used a punt, you're a noob. But, have no fear good ole Verras here will tell you how to sue your punts correctly, so you're chat wont be flooded.

Scenario 1: You're in city, this is punt kingdom. Punt someone off the edge of the cliff in IC or in the water in Altdorf and noone will complain. In fact some may congratulate you. "Mission Complete!"

Scenario 2: Punting off of the dragonwake bridge. If you encounter enemies on the bridge, just punt them off and watch them drop hundreds of feet below you. No one will blame you because they'll be laughing at the falling order/destruction. "Continued Success!"

Scenario 3: When you're alone or in a huge group of people. This will confuse the masses as they try to figure out who did it with a high probability they won't and let it pass. "MONSTER KILL!"

Scenerio 4: When you're about to die. This is one of the few acceptable time people can actually watch you punt an enemy. They'll let it off as a CC and trying to save your own life. However, if the enemy you punted had low hp this could back fire. "YOU ARE THE PUNT MASTER"

Those my friends are the only times punt could be viable. Follow these and you can leave your punt on your hotbar!

Tier 4 Syndrome

People who have Tier 4 Syndrom think they're Cool as Ice
Most of us have been to Tier 4 and some of us haven't. For those of you who haven't I will explain what Tier 4 syndrome is. Tier 4 syndrome is a mental disease one gets from reaching rank 40 and it instantly goes to their head. The effects of Tier 4 syndrome don't show until they create an alt, whether it be on the same side/server or different side/server.

Some effects include but are not limited to; Cockiness, stupidity, and a huge ego. Since they've been to Tier 4 they are instantly better than all the lowbies out there since they've "experienced" most of the game. It doesn't matter whether they were any good at their class or good at anything, they just place themselves higher than you on the smart scale. Often when two people who have created alts collide in a debate it's usually to show the alpha male of who knows more about the game. Making the winner think that he's the most popular guy out there.

If you haven't been to Tier 4 but have seen someone from tier 4 giving you orders don't mind it [unless they are the warband leader]. Most likely they are wrong. For instance in Tier 2 if they tell you to rush the kings room instead of pulling champions 1 by 1 it's because they are too clueless about the tier below them that they think anything that you can do in tier 4 you can do it in the lower tiers.

So, they may know more about Tier 4 but they don't know as much about the lower tier that you're in than you do. That my friend is Tier 4 Syndrome.

Also, there is no cure.

15 Minutes Of Fame

Put down the musical instruments and DO SOMETHING!
Zerging. The word to describe what we were doing to order in T1 Nordland. We pushed them into their warcamp. I safely setup ontop of the hill as I continued bombarding them with flickering red fire. The next thing I knew we wiped and the chat filled with "Who pulled the guards?", "Omgomogmogmogmgomgomgomg," and "WTFNUBs". Notifying me of what happened.

Although this isn't my first time getting wiped by guards in orvr, especially in T1. But, it got me to thinking about the scenarios I got in on my T4 Zealot. Someone would get pulled or walk up a little to close and the guards just insta-raged and chained agroed on everyone in the scenario until everyone was dead. If the guards are so powerful why the hell don't they fight alongside us? Why are we fighting just to get one shotted by a lazy guard who only attacks when he rages?

So, if you want to people to notice you don't try to heal them good, dps them down, or tank the whole group. Just run into those guards and watch everyone shout your name. Then you have your 15 minutes of fame.

My Squig Can Tank

Planes aren't Tanks either.
Hunters Vale. A T1 dungeon filled with gloom effect. Axe and I decided we'd try doing a run today to get the almighty powerful stag cloak! But, the hard part was to come. Finding a group willing to fight along side the best destro. Well, after about an hour we found 2 healers, a dps, and a tank [The other 2 dps were Axe and I]. We hopped in that shiny glowing portal and prepared our eyes for the gloom ahead.

We entered the dungeon all fine pulled the first couple of mobs to find out that our tank is offline. It didn't seem to matter since we kited the champs around till they were dead. After that we kicked our tank and went to find a new tank.

In T1 it seems everyone is a tank. We got messages from squigherders, shamans, zealots, and every class you can be except for an actual tank class. The messages varied from "I can tank good." to "You need a squig?" We laughed the comments away as we tried to pass each mob without a tank. Needless to say we failed and gave up.

Let me put this out there, you aren't a tank unless you picked the tank archetype. No matter what anyone says. When I'm looking for a tank I don't want a dps dok who said he solo tanked a wb of order, or a squigherder who claimes to have 5000 armor. Sure they might be great feats but you lack the tank skills. So, when someone is looking for a tank don't message them saying "My squigs can tank."
